A night of fuzzed up glorious indiepop from Sarah Records favourites’ Boyracer and St Christopher alongside City Yelps and We Went to School.

A welcome return to York, probably their first show here since 1991’s performance at The Winning Post, we are pleased to welcome back indiepop legends Boyracer – punker than you since 1992! – Born from the “largely fictitious Wetherby scene” of the early 90s which also included post-rock Domino Records influencers Hood, Boyracer released tons of records across loads of labels, toured with The Wedding Present, playing a major part of the Sarah Records, A Turntable Friend and Slumberland records history…incredible fiery pop blast such as “I’ve got it and its not worth having”, “He gets me so hard” and “A Friend for life”. Punk-pop at its finest based around the talents of Stew Anderson. This is a rare one-off York show as part of their forthcoming gigs with The Primitives and Sarah labelmates Even as We Speak, Action Painting and Secret Shine.

St Christopher – the hidden pop gems of C86 era, also forming part of the influential Sarah Records back catalogue and also releasing records on Bus Stop Records (Velvet Crush, The Dentists) and Slumberland. Too enigmatic for anorak pop, too heavyweight for tweepop, too sophisticated for C86… just very very good. And from York! More recently they have headlined a show at the 100 club (2015) and will be invited to perform at Popfest in Madrid in March..

City Yelps – What do you want me to say? Chaotic, cathartic, 2 minute pop blasts, off-kilter but on time, melodic but discordant, quite brilliant. From Leeds they continue the DIY ethic of ramshackle but wonderful performances wherever they go, performed at Indietracks and released some brilliant music on Oddbox. Also played regularly on 6music by Marc Riley and Gideon Coe.

We Went to School – Old friends, new music. Pre-Boyracer group of friends from Wetherby who will be performing as warm up for their performance in support of The Primitives on 30th June. They have been recording via Atlantic link up.

Let’s go baboon 2018 ‘Crash Into June’ from March to July programme will include gigs with Richard Dawson, Charlie Parr, The Yawpers, Rattle, Dbh, Myles Manley, Memory Drawings, Manyfingers, Boyracer, St Christopher and more.
