Jess Green is the 2018 BBC Slam Champion and her poem, Dear Mr Gove, has clocked up over 330,000 views.

When Jess joined the Labour Party at University she doubled the number of members who met at the Liverpool Philharmonic Pub. Since then she’s stuck by them through the downfall of Tony Blair, the disappointment of Gordon Brown and the monolith of Ed Miliband. After a decade of keeping her membership card firmly at the back of her wallet she’s fallen head over heels in love with Jeremy Corbyn and his raw Communist sex appeal.

A hard hitting, intelligent, performance poetry show about Labour, Tories and the division of the left. Fusing spoken word and live music, this special gig will feature well-crafted folk music from Jess’ powerhouse backing band the Mischief Thieves.

(Non-Labour members and non-Labour voters more than welcome!)

“It’s written all over her face and in every word of every poem she performs. She really cares – and that’s what makes it impossible to tear your eyes away from her.” – Broadway Baby

“Fantastic” – Jeremy Corbyn

Featuring a special short poetry open mic beforehand, sign up on the door!
