Music is one big conversation. And few bands live at the heart of it like An Dannsa Dub.
Born from a love of traditional Scottish folk, dub reggae and dance music, together they summon the joyous, communal energy of a cèilidh and a sound system session.

As some of you may know, a lot of established BandSoc bands are leaving us at the end of this year. Before they all go off and get real jobs, we thought it would be a great idea to get a few of them together and throw one last big gig with them, some sort of ‘Farewell Festival’.

Sonic Boom Six is an explosive and outspoken five-piece described as “taking ska, pop, grime, dubstep, punk and metal apart, then rebuilding them as a hyperactive hybrid” (Kerrang! Magazine).
With a live show infamous for “clashing activism and good times”, SB6’s legendary gigs are a party that started in Manchester, UK, transcending genres and connecting people from all walks of life. The Boom’s influences include The Specials, The Streets, Rage Against The Machine and The Fugees.

The Rock Band Thank From Leeds’ concoction of anxious disco grooves, harsh noise freakouts and inscrutable sprechgesang bluster was borne out of their hometown’s notorious – and now sadly defunct – DIY collective CHUNK.

Mostly Autumn’s latest album ‘Graveyard Star’ released late 2021 has been very highly acclaimed and follows on from the nomination for best UK band, and best album (White Rainbow) in the Progressive Music Awards 2019.

Hailing from London, with deep roots in the City of York, Rachel Croft is an “emotive and uncompromising alternative artist at the top of her game” (Atwood Magazine) with a vocal range that flows effortlessly from fierce power to deadly soft.
After relocating almost three years ago, Rachel returns to York for an explosive hometown show, backed with full band.

Having toured with the likes of Richard Thompson, and with a supporting slot for Dinosaur Jr. forthcoming—as well as a tremendous Bert Jansch tribute show behind him, wherein his hero Anne Briggs called him the ‘c word’—Walker has rubbed shoulders with the very best.

Dana Margolin of Porridge Radio will be performing solo across the UK, on a joint tour with Naima Bock.
In these special, intimate solo shows, Margolin and Bock will showcase a selection of old and new material.

A treat for us as we’re able to bring classically trained Orkney singer-songwriter Erland Cooper to York for the first time for a super intimate show at The National Centre For Early Music.
