Bristol’s, The Longest Johns have been singing shanties and folk songs together for years. It wouldn’t be the obvious path to stardom for most bands but something about the stories, captivating harmonies and the exuberant live show has made them one of those ‘must-see acts’ anywhere you can find them.
In a few short years, they have gone from singing sea shanties in a kitchen to signing with Decca records, major festivals, tours, TV appearances and gained a huge online following.
As the face of the 2021 sea shanty revival with their track ‘Wellerman’, the Johns are reaching millions of new fans all across the globe and showing them just how great these songs can be.
