Writer/broadcaster Lucy O’Brien will be talking about her new book Lead Sister: The Story of Karen Carpenter, and the delights and challenges of writing a biography.

She has also published She Bop: The Definitive History of Women in Popular Music, Dusty: The Classic Biography, and Madonna: Like An Icon. In 2020 she co-authored It Takes Blood and Guts with Skin, lead singer of rock band Skunk Anansie.

Lucy will be in conversation with Amy McCarthy from York St John University’s Music Memoir Research Group.
