Ho ho ho, it’s only a bloody gig isn’t it. I drew my favourite joke as a celebration (see poster). A mint band from the SOUTH of ENGLAND are coming to play.
Tugboat Captain are a rotating crew of friends and family – recording, rehearsing and releasing music out of a terraced house in South London. The band have spent the last year gathering attention across the DIY Pop community through their relentless touring, homemade videos and bittersweet pop songs. Variously compared to Belle and Sebastian and The Wave Pictures, the band have garnered a reputation for their riotous live shows – frequently combining bassoons and nudity.
Old song but a banger:
Some nice things people have said about them:
‘Best Live Show Of 2017’
We Are Uncollective
‘One of the most fun bands on the planet’
Lost In The Manor
‘An unstoppable imaginative force of indie music created on its own terms’
Bitter Sweet Symphonies
Jerry play awesome off beat wonk pop stuff with weird notes and off-kilter time changes. It’s really great, and they keep getting better. If you haven’t seen them yet then you SHOULD.
Perspex are my new favourite York band, I have seen them twice and it’s just not enough. For fans of cool music and anything by Lou Reed.
neon salmon. I have never seen them myself but Chris from the Fulford Arms LOVES them ♥ so I am very excited about it. Also my cousin is the drummer NEPOTISM!
