Long Legged  Creatures inhabit an inventive middle ground between the artificial and the analogically pure. LLC’s unique blend of ever-twisting electronica has shaped their live appearances into some kind of hybrid; on one hand a groove-laden club set, the other a punk show, all executed within the realms of live instrumentation colluding with abrasive electronics. After playing some heavy hitting shows this year alongside the likes of Mildlife, Noya Rao, Yussef Dayes and Joy Orbison as well as independently releasing three singles, (‘Spent’ (ft Joshua Zero), ‘Demonise’ and ‘CMAD’ (BBC West Yorkshire’s single of the week 20.01.20) ) LLC’s steezy electronic spirit has earned them a ‘not-to-be-missed’ status amongst the UK’s underground scene.

Formed in 2013, Soma Crew (initially called Muttley Crew) grew out of the collaboration between friends who attended a quiet Monday open mic night in York. Original members; songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Simon Micklethwaite, lead guitarist Steve Kendra, drummer Nick Barker and bassist Dave Keegan (the night’s host) went on to record the bands first EP; Live at Dusk. Alistair Hamilton took over bass duties for the first album Another Dead Insect and remained with the band up until the EP Soma which was recorded as a 3-piece. Andy Wiles joined for the next album; National Instruction and mini album F For Fake before moving on to give his full attention to other projects. During this period, lap steel guitarist and synth player Joe Sellers and guitarist and synth player Chris Wilkinson made the band a 6-piece with Chris Goodhead joining the band on bass.

 The band have just returned from recording their next LP in Hunmanby Gap on the east coast. A release for this as yet unnamed album is scheduled with Vinyl Eddie Recordings this Summer. The latest tracks continue the hypnotic, psychedelic pulse-driven trademark Soma Crew sound augmented by the incorporated dynamics of lap steel and synth and vocal harmonics.

Viewer’s sound is powerful and accessible, combining AB Johnson’s acerbic social commentary with Tim’s Wright’s vintage synth driven music and real-time visuals. Their debut release White Noise received critical acclaim and airplay in both the UK and the US (including BBC radio one).
