Following on from their success at the Crescent last year with the New York Brass Band, in 2024 the York Railway Institute Band will collaborate with the fabulous York Music Forum Jazz Ensemble – led by Ian Chalk – to present an evening of quirky, jazz-infused music.

Grab your tickets and come along to hear two fantastic local bands provide a feast for your ears.

David Lancaster, MD of the innovative and enterprising Railway Institute Band, said that they’ve been working hard on a programme that you wouldn’t expect to hear from a brass band, but the 25-piece ensemble was more than capable of recreating the sound of swing classics and some more contemporary, edgy, jazz-inspired tunes.
