As some of you may know, a lot of established BandSoc bands are leaving us at the end of this year. Before they all go off and get real jobs, we thought it would be a great idea to get a few of them together and throw one last big gig with them, some sort of ‘Farewell Festival’.
Headlining are the amazing Gents and Ginger. After forming in 2022 and playing in that year’s Battle of the Bands Final, this funky five-piece have cemented themselves as not only a BandSoc favourite, but as a BandSoc institution. From soulful melodies to irresistible bass lines, their music is a delicious blend of old-school funk with a modern twist, music that is sure to get you dancing, singing, or (at the very least) nodding your head. Join them for an evening of catchy originals and maybe a cover or two as well, at what will (sadly) be their final York gig.
Trent and the Crickets came second at this year’s Battle of the Bands Final, and for good reason – the five piece indie-grunge unit play hard, loud, and well. Armed with an array of heavy hitting, crowd pleasing favourites, you won’t want to miss this set.
Ghostship came onto the scene just over a year ago and have seen a meteoric rise to become one of this BandSoc cohort’s most accomplished bands. Battle of the Bands? Won it last year. Debut album? ‘Freshly Squeezed for Every Last Drop’ is on the way this Spring. This indie-funk four piece can’t wait to show you what they’ve been cooking up.
The PH7 we know today formed when Ryan joined Aaron, Bel, Emily and Jane, at precisely 10:57am on the 18th of February in the year 2022. Blending rock, indie and prog together into their ‘genre-neutral’ style, these guys have become BandSoc legends, with every track a sing-along anthem.
