Everything After Midnight are a five-piece alt-rock band who, since meeting at the University of York in 2019, have gone from strength to strength. Harnessing a distinctive sound inspired by the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Wolf Alice, EAM are ‘brimming with attitude’ (RGM) and ready to explode.
From conception, EAM have had a hugely DIY outlook, getting involved wherever possible and trying to never say ‘no’. This has led the band to putting together a charity compilation CD, playing the York Christmas lights switch on as their 3rd ever gig and Aidan getting to tell Idles’ Joe Talbot that he loves him. Having moved in together in the summer of 2021, the band are now working on more music than ever before. Branded ‘ones to watch’ by Spotlight UK, the group have already garnered airtime and praise from BBC Introducing and a gang of local radio stations.
Their debut EP ‘Still Sleeping’ was recorded in the idyllic Crooked Room studios (home to The Howl & The Hum) and produced by friend Tom Gulliver. The EP takes listeners on a trip through the eyes of the lead singer, Steph, as she experiences romance, feminine beauty ideal and mental health issues for the first time. This led to the EP having a perfect blend of polished and raw alt-rock, especially fitting for fans of Wolf Alice & Nothing But Thieves.
The future is bright for EAM, with new music, a hoard of gigs and good times to come.

‘Probably the best way of describing ph7 is a mainly indie/rock band from uni of york, but honestly Aaron, Bel, Emily, Jane and Ryan’s music tastes are so chaotically different a little bit of everything tends to show up in our songs. Through the power of friendship and just playing stuff over and over again until it sounds cool, we’ve managed to slap together a few little tunes we hope you enjoy.’
