It’s birthday time, and it’s a big one! We are blessed to provide positive vibrations to York, and for all your support over the last 15 years!

From merging the Cranky and Soulspun sound systems together bringing reggae and dub to the city; to evolving into the heavy Yorkshire-coloured House of Joy it is now; it’s been a journey and a half! To celebrate this very special occasion we have a crew down from Glasgow, Scotland, headed by the rising star: WENDS!

Wends is a hugely talented vocalist / MC / singer / DJ flying the flag for the Scottish reggae and dub. Recently she has been rising up the ranks of the UK scene, having recently played Dub Camp Festival in France with Sinai Sound System; with many other festival appearances under her belt, as well as shows all over the UK.

Known for her soulful voice, natural flows and high energy presence on the stage and the decks. She also has a handful of awesome releases which are worth checking out, often collaborating with other up and coming Scottish producers.

As the host of Hometown Sound Systems events, and regularly linking up with crews such as Cenote Sounds & Electrikal Sound System; Wends is no stranger to pushing her style on the mic into the deeper realms of sound system music from 140 to Jungle. We can’t wait to host her here for the first time!

Support from our trusty residents, who have been here from the beginning, playing the finest roots, reggae, rock-steady, ska, dub and jungle. Arrive early to hear it all!
