Biography

Inspirational Sound is a DJ/selector and producer from Bradford who has been recording, producing and mixing his own dubs since 1999. Later he joined forces with The Rootsman, putting on their own “Dublab” events in their hometown. Guests include leading UK acts such as Iration Steppas, Vibronics, Disciples, Alpha & Omega and Nucleus Roots.

They honed their skills in the studio and in 2009 started their label ‘Inspirational Sound’. They have played extensively across the UK and Europe as well as a 2013 tour of Japan. They have a tough arsenal of dubs and releases featuring Macka B, Digistep, Jahfa Culture, Bongo Chilli, Murray Man, Richie Ranks, Dan Man, Stephanie and, of course, D.Bo General.

D.Bo General a.k.a. Dee Bo General a.k.a. The Original Arsonist grew up in Huddersfield and was one of the MCs of the top local sound system Armagideon Muzik in 80s. When the jungle scene exploded in the UK in the early 90s, D.Bo General was at its forefront and scored a top 50 national hit with the legendary jungle rave track “Some Justice ’95”.

Produced by Mickey Finn and Urban Shakedown (aka Aphrodite), their first collaboration started a partnership that would go on to make dnb history. Starting with one of the most influential jungle /D&B tunes ever released!

D.Bo General has toured the UK, Europe and the US. He continues to tour and record; his latest release came out earlier this year with long time collaborators The Rootsman and Inspirational Sound. He has also worked with Iration Steppas, Zion Train, L Double, Erb N Dub, Celt Islam and many more.
