2 Summers ago a sold out audience at Pocklingtons Platform Festival were thrilled to witness such a brilliant headlining appearance by Ireland’s iconic band The Hothouse Flowers.
In the middle of a stunning band performance, the lead singer, Liam O’Maonlai entertained the crowd with a marvellous solo acoustic spot featuring his deep love and respect for Irish traditional music by presenting songs and stories largely in Gaelic.
Many at that gig remarked that what was a world class band performance was thus elevated to another level entirely. During that solo interlude Liam invited up on stage the golden voiced singer and York resident Jane Stockdale from our support trio White Sail.
It was a memorable show.
After a packed out return to York at The Black Swan, Liam is back in town on September
Now you can see Liam do a full & rare solo show in the intimate heart of York’s folk music scene The Black Swan.
We are grateful to The Black Swan Folk Club for their assistance in staging this intimate solo show in their home venue.
Back in the day The Hothouse Flowers had a worldwide ‘hit’ record on their hands with Liam’s song “Don’t Go”.
Forget that! You Must Come!!
