Savage Mansion AKA Glasgow-based purveyor of scuzzy slacker guitar pop Craig Angus released his debut album ‘Revision Ballads’ earlier this year on Lost Map Records.
Savage Mansion who consist of a revolving cast of musicians that typically includes Lewis Orr on drums and Andrew McPherson and Jamie Dubber from Catholic Action on second guitar and bass, wear their influences – from the Velvet Underground, Neil Young, REM and Pavement – proudly pinned to their jackets.
Savage Mansion are a loud, loose, ferociously melodic and endlessly entertaining indie rock band who know how to construct a classic power-pop song. Angus’s lyrical wit and wry observational storytelling is key and he has a relentless flow and stamina in the same vein as Courtney Barnett or Andrew Savage of Parquet Courts. Live Savage Mansion unleash this barrel load of songs uninterrupted and without hesitation!
Before hopping over to play the Howlin’ Fling festival on Eigg, Savage Mansion spent a week recording in April, which has resulted in the group nailing album number two.
