As part of York International Women’s Weeks 2025, this event highlights Palestinian women’s sumud (steadfastness) through powerful speeches and the first 3D animated film from Palestine, ‘Fatenah’. Join us for a heart-warming, eye-opening experience and learn in solidarity.
Dr Khawla Badwan – an academic and a scholar of language, culture and education, she is a Palestinian refugee who lived for many years in Gaza. She is co-author of a recent poetry book called ‘Keep Telling Of Gaza’.
Dimah Gentles – Cystic fibrosis pharmacist, born in Kuwait to a Palestinian mother and Jordanian father, active member of health works for Palestine and mother of two.
‘Fatenah’ (2009) is the first 3D animated film made in the Palestinian territories. Directed by Ahmad Habash and based on a true story and highlights health injustice.
