Were all excited about the imminent arrival of post-punky bunch Spring King next week, but more so as they’re dragging with them two more fab up and coming bands. Although Leeds four piece Weirds have been around a little while, they released their debut album on Alcopop last year…and it’s pretty fizzy! Grunge trio Calva Louise have been tearing up small venues across the capitol the last six months so pretty sure they’ll be up and at us on Tuesday night.
Tom Joshua is a sweet voiced Chappy from Stockton-on-Tees who’s been making a lot of friends up that way over the last couple of years. He’s playing in York for the first time opening for Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble in March.
She Drew The Gun are a very welcome addition to our show with Cabbage in April. Signed to Skeleton Key they were in town opening for The Coral in Fibbers a couple of years back and returned to play a great headline show in The Fulford Arms when their debut album came out. Check this absolute beaut of a call-to-arms.
We once again have the pleasure of hosting great Canadian folk-rock duo Kacy & Clayton. Since they were last here opening for Daniel Romano, they’ve been touring the States with Wilco and have released The Siren’s Song, their Jeff Tweedy produced third album.
So yeah, come down early, you never know what treats you could give your ears.
