Back in April 2019, 22a label founder and multi instrumentalist Tenderlonious travelled to Lahore in Pakistan to take part in some improvised recording sessions with a Pakistani instrumental quartet called ‘Jaubi’. Two albums came from those recording sessions that have been met with mass acclaim. The music has been described as East meets West – Spiritual, Indian jazz-fusion and psychedelic ragas with nods to golden era hip hop. Part of the Music Venue Trust Revive Live tour, with buy one get one free tickets available.

Part Chimp, Uncle Bari + Junk-It
Part Chimp have made it their business to shake speaker-stacks, fry brains and induce jouissance and tinnitus alike during their twenty two year, five album existence. It was about time they came to play in York then really!
Rosali, Zandra + Missing Kids
With a long Philadelphia based and intwined in that city’s experimental and D.I.Y. community, Rosali released her third album, No Medium, in May last year and it was one of our very faves of the year. A generally loose and alive, country-rock feel, well balanced with sparser, folkish numbers. Rosali’s voice sounds amazing all through and the songs are heartfelt and relatable. It’s proper good.
Previous collaborators include Mary Lattimore, Sarah Louise, Mike Polizze (Purling Hiss), Mike Sobel, Jayson Gerycz (Cloud Nothings) and Charlie Hall from The War On Drugs who along with J Mascis and The Weather Station Rosali has opened for on tour. A collective stamp of approval right there.

perspex, Trueman & The Indoor League + Captain Starlet
perspex released their ace debut album to absolutely zero fanfare back in May so we thought we’d belatedly throw a party to celebrate. Trueman & The Indoor League are back with a reshuffled line-up featuring one of the guitarists from Captain Starlet who open. So there you have it. It’s a party. We’ll likely have some DJs in the front bar and there will be refreshments available.
