Blending reverb-soaked shoegaze with minimalist electronic production, The KVB’s music reflected Nicholas Wood and Kat Day’s mastery of atmosphere even as their sound evolved over the course of the 2010s. Early releases such as 2012’s debut album, ‘Always Then’, dealt in brittle beats and sonic blasts that evoked Cabaret Voltaire and the Jesus and Mary Chain in equal measure, but the duo’s style became more streamlined and sharp-edged on later efforts such as 2018’s ‘Only Now Forever’.

And, having honed their craft over the past three years, moving from their first single to now as they stand on the cusp of their forthcoming debut album, Polo are a band who’ve earned every success that’s rightfully come to them.

We’re extremely pleased to welcome back Kristin Hersh to The Crescent. Definite indie rock royalty, fronting her bands Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave. She’s back with her band featuring Fred Abong, bass player from Throwing Muses and Rob Ahlers, drummer of 50 Foot Wave. These electric trio shows are loud, tight and intense, featuring material from across Kristin’s thirty-year career.

Hailing from the West Coast of Scotland and playing honest, straight-up, blue-collar, folk-infused rock’n’roll, Peat & Diesel have made friends the world over in a short time. This is their York debut and we can’t wait.
