Bad Saloon
Heavily influenced by the usual suspects – Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Jimmy Reed, Freddie King and the like – but with its own distinctive, attacking sound, Bad Saloon delivers a cool, no-nonsense, vintage blend of Chicago blues and Texas rock.
Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts + Vital Idles
New York City indie-folk hero Jeffrey Lewis brings his band back to York in April. His albums for Rough Trade have helped bring a certain kind of outsider music, weirdly known as anti-folk, to a wider audience alongside peers like Kimya Dawson, Adam Green, The Mountain Goats and Daniel Johnson.
Ouroboros w/ Submotion Orchestra
Since their inception nearly 8 years ago, the genre defying Submotion Orchestra have moved seamlessly between deep electronica, jazz, soul and ambient downtempo, mesmerising audiences from India to Iceland.
Lankum + Paula Ryan
BBC Folk Awards ‘Best Group 2018’ winners Lankum (Lynched) are a four-piece traditional folk group from Dublin, Ireland, who combine distinctive four-part vocal harmonies with arrangements of uilleann pipes, concertina, Russian accordion, fiddle and guitar. Their repertoire spans humorous Dublin music-hall ditties and street-songs, classic ballads from the Traveller tradition, traditional Irish and American dance tunes, and their own original material.
