Rough Trade Records have just released the self-titled debut album by Goat Girl. Produced by Dan Carey (The Kills, Bat For Lashes, Franz Ferdinand) in his South London studio, the record already has the press hot under the collar and has helped the four piece secure a rather sweet US tour with Parquet Courts and a bunch of fine festival slots in the summer.
A Collection of Pieces for Toy Instruments is a suite of recordings for toy pianos, slide-whistles, plastic accordions, melodicas, and a miniature brass band plus The Tiny Desk Songbook, a work for eight performers sat at individual wooden desks. Performed and devised in collaboration with ‘The Assembled’, an inimitable ensemble based at the University of York.

For lovers of Classic Rock – Jimi Anderson, born in Lanark, now York based, takes inspiration found in bands such as Whitesnake, Deep Purple and even Foreigner and Journey. His album “Longtime Commin” was released in 2017 through Pride And Joy Music, sold out in Japan and the band will showcase the original tunes with a sprinkling of covers at The Crescent for a night that will bring great drive and some serious vocals.
Damien & Ron, sidemen extraordinaire with Kate Rusby and Allison Krauss respectively, will be joined by a band of wonderful musicians and together will play material from their debut album, due for release July 2018, as well as a few signature pieces of their own.

East London folk band Stick in the Wheel are headed by singer Nicola Kearey, and guitarist/producer Ian Carter. Known for Kearey’s fierce, authentic delivery, this is culturally and politically switched on music with its roots firmly embedded in the genre’s traditional, working-class heritage.
