Tercelvoice celebrate the arrival of their new album ‘This Is Our Time’ with a launch party here in October!
Released on local independent label Young Thugs Records, you can expect more of Tercelvoice’s trademark cinematic textures, soulful melodies and infectious beats. The very wonderful Marnie Glum opens.
Crescent Community Disco: Crescent 8th Birthday ft. Aroop Roy
Celebrating 8 years since we opened the venue! We’re once again celebrating with have a special Crescent Community Disco, this time joined by special guest Aroop Roy.
Aroop Roy is a London-based DJ, producer and label head, who’s been tearing apart festivals like We Out Here recently, with epic marathon sets, and back to backs with the likes of Mr Scruff, who highly recommended him for The Crescent dancefloor! He blends together the electronic edge of House, Disco and broken beat with the soulful sounds of Afro, Latin, Funk and Jazz. One look at this guys monstrous back catalogue of edits, remixes and originals shows that this is a guy who knows his bag inside and out.
Irie Vibes feat. DBC3
York’s electro dub rockers DBC3 play for the first time with their new lineup and sound at The Crescent. Featuring 2 original members of the once sizable Dub Barn Collective, this trio have reworked their repertoire and now includes the addition of charismatic mic man Dandy Dizzle, and all-round musical wizard DJI (aka The Urbanizer).
Yusuf Yellow (Live Band) + 4t7
After a cracking support slot for Lowkey last year, we’re delighted to bring back Leeds based conscious rapper Yusuf Yellow, alongside his live band who blend hip-hop, punk, jazz and spoken word poetry. Support comes from local upcoming talent 4t7, with more tba.
Pillow Queens + Adwaith
Pillow Queens are a four piece based in Dublin, Ireland. Formed in 2016, their State of the State EP caught the ear of Steve Lamacq who called the band’s songs “deceptively infectious, with sharp hooks and sharp nails”. That EP’s lead single, Favourite, with its accompanying dog-filled video, received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Radio X, and Amazing Radio as well as across Irish national radio stations. Two UK tours followed, along with a brace of sellout hometown shows in Dublin.
Say Owt Slam: Featuring Polarbear
Since 2014, Say Owt have been hosting raucous poetry slams where performers get 3 mins to wow an audience. They’ve become the mainstay of the York community. Whether you love the written (and spoken) word or are just curious, this high energy event features a host of poets each with a unique style. We promise a Saturday night poetry party packed with humour & heart, personal stories & politics.

Mohsen Amini, Graeme Armstrong and Benedict Morris fuse concertina, guitar and fiddle to produce an innovative, multi-layered signature that has captivated audiences around the globe. At its core, three seemingly acoustic instruments – but in the hands of three master craftsmen; Talisk’s unmistakable, bold sound and a captivating live show.
The Crescent Record Fair
14 stallholders with a great selection of records of all genres. Loads of collectable & rare LPs & 45s and lots of bargains. The fair will be in 2 rooms – with most stalls in the gig area and a few in the front bar area.
