This year is no exception as we bring one of the biggest names in drum&bass to York for the first time: Dub Phizix featuring guest MCStrategy (Broke’n’£nglish). Also on the bill – a very special guest DJ who cannot be revealed yet but is set to smash 2018… Keep your eyes peeled for clues!

Bad Saloon
Heavily influenced by the usual suspects – Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Jimmy Reed, Freddie King and the like – but with its own distinctive, attacking sound, Bad Saloon delivers a cool, no-nonsense, vintage blend of Chicago blues and Texas rock.
Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts + Vital Idles
New York City indie-folk hero Jeffrey Lewis brings his band back to York in April. His albums for Rough Trade have helped bring a certain kind of outsider music, weirdly known as anti-folk, to a wider audience alongside peers like Kimya Dawson, Adam Green, The Mountain Goats and Daniel Johnson.
Ouroboros w/ Submotion Orchestra
Since their inception nearly 8 years ago, the genre defying Submotion Orchestra have moved seamlessly between deep electronica, jazz, soul and ambient downtempo, mesmerising audiences from India to Iceland.
Lankum + Paula Ryan
BBC Folk Awards ‘Best Group 2018’ winners Lankum (Lynched) are a four-piece traditional folk group from Dublin, Ireland, who combine distinctive four-part vocal harmonies with arrangements of uilleann pipes, concertina, Russian accordion, fiddle and guitar. Their repertoire spans humorous Dublin music-hall ditties and street-songs, classic ballads from the Traveller tradition, traditional Irish and American dance tunes, and their own original material.
Richard Dawson, Charlie Parr + Ed Dowie
All 3 acts have released incredible albums in 2017 with Richard’s remarkable ‘Peasant’ album in the Top 10 in Norman Records, Uncut Magazine, The Quietus and more. This is a gig not to be missed!
Hans Theessink & Brooks Williams
Hans Theessink, is one of the fiercest acoustic players in Europe and one of the top acoustic blues stars worldwide, a man who has played with the best and is one of the best, American or European, black & white, old and young, since The 1960s.
Brooks Williams hails from Statesboro, Georgia, he’s a mean finger-picker and a stunning slide guitarist with a beautiful voice. Not one easy to pigeon-hole, Brooks’ music is the love-child of country-blues and Americana.
Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip + Hyde Family Jam
Returning to The Crescent for a 2nd time this three piece from Leeds have a growing national reputation and are proving to be one of the most interesting, unpredictable, and exciting acts on the circuit. Mik’s lyrical dexterity has the ability to make people laugh, cry, and throw themselves about.
