Chameleon and Ouroboros collaborate once more for a slamming club night. We’re really excited about a b2b between these two incredible rising stars in the scene of leftfield techno: re:ni & Ploy. These two have a rapid slew of releases on respected labels like Hessle, L.I.E.S., Timedance & Ilian Tapes between them, as well as sets at respected institutions like Robert Johnson, Panorama Bar, Phonox and Dekmantel. But it’s when they are together that they are at their very best; electric energy, plenty of left turns and an ear for dancefloor destruction.

– re:ni –

Growing up listening to drum & bass and dubstep, re:ni’s sets join the dots between her dub-wise influences and contemporary bass-driven techno, electro, jungle and breaks. With shows at institutions like Panorama Bar, De School, Robert Johnson and fabric, she brings a UK sensibility to the dancefloor, bouncing across bpms with a record bag stacked full of deep basslines and broken rhythms.

Her monthly NTS show re:lax, together with Laksa, has become a fixture in the listening habits of all UK-minded music heads. Every month you’ll find listeners from all over the world tuning in to re:ni, Laksa and their guests to listen to the latest finds they present during their regular show. re:ni was selected out of thousands of applications for the inaugural NTS WIP 2019, a programme aimed to provide mentoring and career development for eight artists.

Nominations as breakthrough DJ of the year and a tour schedule encompassing all many of the world’s respected underground clubs and festivals keep solidifying her place amongst the best DJs in the contemporary electronic music world.

Her debut EP on the renowned Munich label Ilian Tape issues a new chapter in her career, as a producer taking her place in the unique intersection of UK heritage and German influences but bringing them into current age.

– Ploy –

Ploy, the pseudonym of South London based artist Sam Smith, emerged onto the scene in 2016 with his debut release, ‘Sala One Five’ on the renowned Hessle Audio label. This was expertly followed up by a slew of EP’s finding residence on Batu’s Timedance imprint, the faction who collectively carved out a unique sound in a shockingly short space of time, grounded in UK bassbin principles yet pushing that prism in wild, crooked new ways that have become something of a signature aesthetic. A constant urge to push boundaries led him to his debut album on the renowned L.I.E.S. Records, a home for the raw and grittiness that shows in his most personal work. The raving reviews and end of year lists show the world catching on to his unique skill set as a producer. His own label Deaf Test expertly explores his spectrum of sounds with a playful approach whilst keeping room for experimentation and collaboration.

Ploy’s unique sound has a place among modern electronic music’s most innovative, receiving remix treatment from the likes of Beatrice Dillon and Peder Mannerfelt. His knack for pushing out well received hits has been recognized by best track of the year listings on many publications such as Crack Magazine, The Guardian, FACT Magazine, Mixmag, Dummy Mag, DJ Mag and more.
