Deptford Northern Soul Club are childhood friends, Will Foot and Lewis Henderson, whose early love of soul developed after discovering Lewis’ dad’s record collection. After finally bringing their musical heritage to the forefront with their debut dj set at Deptford’s Bunker Club 6 years ago, they have taken their hard hitting breed of Northern Soul up and down the uk and over to mainland Europe, from Glastonbury to Greenman, from Bristol to Glasgow, from Dublin to deptford; featuring soul stompers, heavy horns, joyous perspiration, ecstatically harmonious strings, dance moves you’ve never seen before and a hangover you’ll want to forget.

Whether behind a turntable, dancing out front or in discussion, their sheer love and passion for soul is infectious, as is the spark of friendship and mutual musical appreciation between the two of them. 29-years-old but with old heads on their sharply dressed young shoulders, they have emerged as the new face of Northern Soul, bringing the movement back into the conversation of modern dance music.

Support comes from Georgie Howarth, and Northern Grooves:

Georgie Hogarth

Raised by two record collectors & starting my own collection by the age of ten, it’s no wonder York native Georgie Hogarth has a enviable crate of stompers and love of soul music to command any dance floor. Brought up going to mod and soul weekenders & scooter rallies, her first gig was Brian Wilson at the age of four which opened her ears to The Wall of Sound which opened the door to Tamla & Northern Soul. Expect the very finest records and biggest sounds.

Northern Grooves
Northern Grooves was birthed out of two lad’s passion for fashion and music. Though the collective line-up has changed this lies at the heart of the group. Lead wax spinner Isaac Lloyd began the nights in Withington’s Café Blah in 2021 since then the nights have seen success across the city, particularly at their monthly residency at Manchester’s Night & Day. Northern Grooves are making it their mission to create a community for soul music to be more accessible to the masses of Manchester and beyond. Their roots are firmly planted in the community. Mixing the traditional with the contemporary, their style can be admired by all ages. Expect huge northern soul classics, stompers, and modern soul dancers throughout their sets.
