Our friends at the Black Swan Folk Club in York have been tirelessly promoting all manner of traditional music in this city for many years. Every Thursday they continue to host a live session in the upstairs room of The Black Swan on Peasholme Green plus they regularly present concerts elsewhere in town, many of which in the National Centre For Early Music.
We’ve been enjoying working with them since we started here and we’re looking forward to our next two concerts.
The first is with two world-renown American acoustic blues players, Hans Theessink and Brooks Williams, who drop by on their ‘Steady Rolling Blues’ tour on May 6th.
The second is with Irish four-piece Lankum who last night scooped two awards at the BBC Folk Awards including Best Group. They perform here on May 22nd and there are still limited tickets available.
