DJ Food is a producer, club and radio DJ, also known as Strictly Kev. He has been involved in the DJ Food project for three decades (once a multi-producer outfit alongside Coldcut and PC) and sole keeper of the flame for over 20 years. As part of Coldcut’s Solid Steel radio show for 25 years, he’s mixed hundreds of hours of audio for radio and compilations using his decades of experience and vast record collection. His DJ career has taken him all over the world, adding visuals to his sets, projecting in planetariums and constructing analogue audio-visual events.

As part of the 45 Live crew – DJs playing sets entirely from 7” vinyl – he’s dug deep into the acid house and rave crates for his set lists. He also has 15 years of audio visual shows under his belt, using Serato to perform video homages to Kraftwerk, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin as well as his own eclectic sets. In tandem he’s enjoyed a career as chief designer for Ninja Tune since the early 90’s through to the 2010s, running parallel with his music making. Other clients include Sony, Universal, the BBC, Warp, De:tuned, Antique Beat, Lo Recordings, Castles In Space and more.
