This is going to be a big show billing some of our favourite local acts all in one night! The Televangelists fresh from releasing their debut EP headline on the night with Dvsk, Tax and Honey Smugglers all in support! Not to be missed!
THE TELEVANGELISTS
A band that are fresh on the York scene are also an outfit who had been working away 6 months previously before playing their first gig under a year ago now. They’re a band who come across like they have been around for a while with just the way they sound. Its crazy and it makes me envious that they sound quite polished so early on with that real oozing of The Cribs jumping out at you, but not in the bracket of ‘ooo its been done before’ its a sense of them putting their own stamp on it, standing out from the others. They also have other tracks that really scream of The Vaccines with the real festival big hitters in there that will have your arms in the air and jumping on people’s shoulders. You can just see it and quite frankly we music lovers want to see it too from these guys! (We expect it on the night too…just saying!)

Whether you spell their name with a ‘U’ or a ‘V’ there is no need to debate such a thing when you know a band has something about them. Still very much in their prime on the York scene currently but it is without doubt that they burst onto the scene during a Northern Radar show right at the end of 2016 which certainly was a show they caused chaos and put on a mad show that night. It seems to have just become a regular thing now from these four and its safe to say the confidence of frontman Will is a leading beacon that makes them stand out, not only do they have the catchy, bouncy, get involved songs but his stage presence brings the crowd participation up to a level that leads you to the core of how big these guys could be. 2017 has been a big stride for these guys and 2018 will only see them step it up again with new tunes on the horizon.

Very much a band in their infancy scuzzing their way through each set that they do. This will only be their 5th show as I type this. Mixing their sound of bouncy garage rock n roll with a real lo fi fuzz.

HONEY SMUGGLERS
One of the hottest new swingers in town, Honey Smugglers seem to be able to croon along all night. Their set takes you on a journey of moody blues and that passion emblazoned style of sob story you’d hear jazz artists swoon over. It really mixes up on the genres and for a band who have only played a small handful of gigs so far (all Northern Radar shows) they are a band so tight that it is actually scary where they could end up another year down the line. Its the heavy influence of The Smiths that give you the sense of an idea of what these four are about and the smooth vocals of front man Sam Lightfoot Loftus that really give them that edge on the York scene right now.
