There is a feeling of optimism in the air!
Vaccinations are continuing at pace, and since the governments announcement our inboxes have exploded with enquiries, and tickets are quickly moving for all of our announced shows, with many heading to sellouts (head here to see whats currently on sale).
The roadmap the government has set out seems sensible; certainly more considered than previous attempts to exit lockdown.
However we remain cautious. We are going to wait a bit longer before we announce re-opening parties for June and July. Whilst we are of course very hopeful we can get dancing with you again soon, a lot of things are still in the air with variants etc, and we don’t want to make commitments we cannot keep, especially given the damaging nature of the stop-start approach our industry has been subjected to over the past 12 months. Things can change with little to no notice, and announcing shows then cancelling or postponing them is damaging for both morale and finances, all of which are under pressure never felt before. Whilst hospitalisations and infections are lower than than recent figures, they could still rise as the country begins to open up again.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. But the last mile of the marathon is always the hardest.
Don’t fear, we are working behind the scenes to make sure that when we are able to, we come back with a bang. We think that once we get back into full flow, we will see the biggest season of shows this city, let alone venue, has ever seen. And we’ve got some great plans for things in the meanwhile, so stay tuned to the mailing list!
Thanks everyone for your continued support. For everyone tuning in to our weekly DJ series from the Front Bar, buying T shirts (new designs here check them out!), or buying and holding on to tickets for shows months away. Your love and support has been a source of hope for the team here.
Please trust that we’ll return and put on the best parties we’ve ever thrown. Hold those dates in your calendar, and be ready to fill them as the haze of lockdown lifts.
