York’s gobbiest poetry night is excited to bring the wonderful Hollie McNish back to York and back to The Crescent.
Hollie McNish has published three poetry collections Papers, Cherry Pie and Plum, and one poetic memoir on politics and parenthood, Nobody Told Me, of which the Scotsman suggested “The world needs this book” and for which she won the Ted Hughes Award. Hollie will be reading from her latest collection Slug.

And boy does he like a good church! Benjamin follows his memorable sold out show at The Minster with a first time visit to The Citadel on Gillygate, the former HQ for the Salvation Army in York.

It’s a long time since Highlands singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni has been to York. She’s been away starting a family and writing a bunch of beautiful songs which we’re lucky enough to be presenting for you in the National Centre For Early Music across town.

The Bradford-born guitarist gained a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music in 2008 from Leeds College Of Music winner their for Outstanding Musicianship; a truly electric guitarist! York Blues Festival house band DC Blues opening too.

Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto, the powerhouse bass and drums of the group King Crimson for a few decades, bring that tradition to all their playing. Levin plays the Chapman Stick, from which the band takes its name.

Keith’s career traverses 50 years, from his Mighty Baby-backed 1969 debut ‘Stimulus’ to his appearances at the first Glastonbury a year later and on Bowie’s second eponymous album (aka Space Oddity). He’s dabbled in blues (Weatherman) and instrumentals (Acoustica) and here returns to the organic, emotional folk material in which he excels.
